Hi! I am Gargi. I am a working mother and a traveler from India. As most people do, I also love traveling.
But more than that I love making itineraries and love to make notes of the trips. I believe, as a society, if someone spends time on something, the other should spend on some other thing. And both can mutually benefit from each other. Thus I want that my experiences and time should be of use to all of you.
I love to join the dots basically. I want to share those tini-mini details that are important but are usually missed out by other travel bloggers or various sites. Thus you can expect a info filled notes from me – so that you do not have to spend as much time making your travel itinerary as I had to – without missing the small but important traveling tips of course.
Middle-class working Mommas
There are many women out there who, like me, might be sure that their time is over for traveling the world. This is especially true of the Indian house wives, not to think of those with kids. But trust me this is true till you think it is so.
I write for all of us such women – the middle aged, salaried mommas who are looking for a ray of hope that shows them that mothers can travel with/without kids apart to their home towns.
I have been traveling with my kids since the younger one is few months old and with their dad who is not at all an enthusiastic traveller.
India of course!
Myths about India
I hail from India and prioritize to travel my Homeland especially to the well known destinations. Most known facts about India are myths. Slowly these myths are broken. I am looking forward to help the same. Nowadays India is known more as the spiritual hub of the world. Being a low cost country, India attracts travelers, medical tourists and spiritual enthusiasts from all over the world. I will be writing more about the country, it’s worthiness as travel destination, about it’s culture and customs and about how safe it is especially for foreign travelers to the extent of making it their homes.
My destination notes will benefit the Indians also who like to travel more during holidays. Here, you will find information that are specifically for the Indian government employees. I will share good information regarding accommodations especially meant for them and their correct contact details which are very rarely available on the internet. International travelers will also benefit from this in more than one ways.
I love relishing the place instead of rushing to all the tourist spots. I also love to take the unbeaten paths – travel to nearby places to where I stay and visit the lesser known beautiful places. My personal favourites are naturally mesmerizing and peaceful places. I try to make all efforts to avoid crowd and try to catch glimpse of places when very less human beings are around. For me, historical places hold good only if I have complete knowledge of story around it. And architectural wonders are good if I could get my hands in their salient features. Otherwise they tire me.
Places I have visited
Till now I have been to places in Goa, Kutch, Narmada, Tapi, Polo Forest, Dangs, into the abode of lions at Gir national forest and several weekend getaways in Panchmahal and Vadodara districts in Gujarat. Close to Gujarat, I have been to Diu, Darjeeling and Kolkata in the state of West Bengal, Udaipur and to the tiger reserve of Ranthambore in Rajasthan, Gangtok in Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Northern Kerala.
Soon I will post about my Andamans trip.
